My love for adventure and learning about new cultures has brought me all around the world and is part of what sparked my interest in applying for the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms program.
I was lucky enough to be given the International Field Teaching Exchange opportunity with the Fulbright TGC Cohort in Canada from June 6th through the 17th, 2022. While we were in Canada we met as a full cohort in the beautiful city of Toronto and then we split up into smaller teams for site visits. My site visit was to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
While on my journey I had chosen a set of guiding questions to help me on my journey - which will be answered throughout the entries you can read below. My guiding questions were:
What is the role of music in a Canadian School System in comparison to an American School System?
What is the role of the arts in a school, and how is it used to showcase students' personal expression?
How are the arts part of a school's culture in the Canadian system in comparison to an American system?
This page will highlight not only the journey that we took through Canada but will also discuss some of the aspects of Canadian education that we studied during our exchange and will highlight some of the cultural experiences that we were fortunate enough to have. Please enjoy!
